LONGCUT
The idea for the intervention comes from observing so-called shortcuts, organically made paths over grassy areas. Shortcuts are basically alternative routes, shorter ways that save us some time on the way to the final destination.
The performing interventions are staged directly next to already existing shortcuts, making longcuts, as I called them. The starting point of the longcut is at the beginning of the shortcut, in between it develops into a separate path that eventually ends together with the shortcut. They are in a way an alternative to the alternative. The longcuts are created by walking the same path back and forth (long live Richard Long!).
It is a processual work, since, for example, one of the longcuts was created for several weeks with about an hour of walking per day.
The longcuts were visible and available for use for a few months until the grass grew back.
