Koroška street is located in the city center of Maribor. A few years ago, this was one of those streets where you could get your shoes or bike repaired, spontaneously stumble upon an art show, or just observe layers of street art. Gallery K18 stayed there for 10 years and was one of the most recognizable and specific spaces on the street.

The street was recently renovated. The shoemaker received almost double the monthly rent. There is a new restaurant on the corner. A couple of new facades and so empty spaces waiting for investors.

The K 18 team also lost its gallery space. With my participation, which was one of the last, I wanted to emphasize the importance of physical space, which is a fundamental condition for the operation of this gallery. I painted the facade of the gallery with fluorescent red/orange marker reception, one usually used to mark streets and construction sites or trees that need to be cut down. I completed the wall with visual language elements that imitate markings used in construction work.
