“In order to ensure the felling of the trees that have been selected, the Forest Service of Slovenia must mark the trees for possible felling.” (from regulations on logging, handling of logging residues, harvesting and stacking of forest wood assortments).

Tree felling is mainly related to sanitary reasons or tree diseases. That’s why the state of the forests is checked every year, with trees for possible felling being marked in orange.

This intervention deals with trees that are marked but not felled even after few years. These marks can be read as targets that speak of the shortcomings of these trees. I removed the colored markings from the trees, symbolically destigmatizing them.
